		Polomolok is a 1st class municipality in the province of South Cotabato, Philippines.
		According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 110,709 people in 22,492 households.
		Polomolok is derived from the B'laan word meaning "hunting grounds." B'laans are the natives of the place but today's population are mixed.

	Where is Sulit?
		ulit is the biggest barrio in the town of Polomolok, in the province of South Cotabato, Philippines, named after the leader of the first migrant settlers who came to the area before World War II.

		A Norwegian Scientist confirmed the possible exposure to Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) toxin of residents from a farming village in Polomolok, South Cotabato who were downed last year by infection suspected to have been caused by Bt corn planted in the area.
		In September last year, Traavik, who was then conducting an independent research on Bt corn in South Cotabato, got hold of the report and immediately offered to analyze the blood samples of the affected residents in his laboratory at the University of Tromso in Norway.
		The blood samples from 38 affected individuals were taken on Oct. 18 last year in Polomolok and were reportedly under the supervision of a municipal health officer and a registered medical technologist.

		Three other journalists have been murdered in the Philippines already this year because of their work, according to CPJ research.
		Danilo Mangila, the local police chief superintendent, told reporters that Morales was riding a motorcycle with a companion on the highway into the town of Polomolok when eight assailants on four motorcycles stopped him on the highway and opened fire at around 6 p.m.
		Police cited Morales' anti-drug commentaries as a possible motive for his murder, but Chief Inspector Rex Anongos, head of the Polomolok police, told the MindaNews wire service that police were looking into other, personal motives for the killing.
