Polydimethylsiloxane is a substance that is manufactured by Dow Chemical and is primarily used in food-manufacturing factories as a de-foaming agent for commercial boilers.
Polydimethylsiloxane is not approved for use as a food additive, yet, Pizza Hut is using this silicone-based chemical as a stabilizer for cheese on its patented pizza products.
Neither is Polydimethylsiloxane, or formaldehyde which results as a byproduct when frozen silicone-sprayed pizza is subjected to heat.

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is the most widely used silicon-based organic polymer, and is particularly known for its unusual rheological (or flow) properties.
Activated dimethicone, a mixture of polydimethylsiloxanes and silicon dioxide (sometimes called simethicone), is used in over-the-counter drug as an anti-foaming agent and carminative.
As a food additive, it has the E number E900 and is used as an anti-foaming agent and an anti-caking agent.

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is the most widely used silicon-based organic-polymer, and is mostly known for its unusual rheological (or flow) properties.
The chemical formula for Polydimethylsiloxane is (CH3)3SiO[SiO(CH3)2]nSi(CH3)3, where n is the number of repeating monomer [SiO(CH3)2] units.
The structure of Polydimethylsiloxane is almost liquid, remaining in long fluid chains that easily change shape at normal temperatures.

The Pizza Hut chain is using a silicone-based toxin, Polydimethylsiloxane, on their frozen pizza products, as well as out-of-the-oven pizzas.
The company defends its use of this toxin by claiming that polydimethylsiloxane is a necessary emulsifier and preservative.
Polydimethylsiloxane is created by mixing a silicone emulsifier to water, which forms a 0.05% emulsifier solution.

Cycloaliphatic epoxide-functionalised polydimethylsiloxanes were coated onto a gel-coated fibreglass substrate and cured using two different light sources: UV light and visible light.
Curing was accomplished through the use of an acid-generating photoinitiator, and a photosensitiser was used to shift the initiating wavelength into the visible region.

Therefore, comprehension of the characteristics of polymers involves determining their mechanical properties in order to compare with theoretical models.
The model we are interested in validating is based on atomistic molecular dynamics simulations of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) molecules interacting with filler particles.[1] Ideally, microscopic observations of these interactions are required, but useful initial information can be obtained with various tensile testing methods.
We have carried out a series of tensile tests on several forms of PDMS that include fillers such as silica.
