CIF files should be validated before deposition via http://checkcif.iucr.org and the IUCr validation report submitted with the manuscript.
Polyhedron will publish original, fundamental, experimental and theoretical work of the highest quality in all the major areas of inorganic chemistry.
In addition Polyhedron publishes specially commissioned review articles (Polyhedron Reports) and collections of original research papers (Polyhedron Symposia-in-Print) of appropriate timeliness.

  Zonohedrification
An efficient algorithm is presented to "zonohedrify" a given polyhedron.
There are relatively few interesting processes which input an arbitrary polyhedron and output a related polyhedron.
To this list can be added zonohedrification, in which the vertex directions of the original polyhedron (relative to an arbitrary center) determine the edge directions of the resulting zonohedrification.

 The Euler Formula, Part II
The only restrictions on the figures were that there were no holes in them, that every face of a polyhedron had to be a polygon, and that all the faces were flat and edges straight.
Straight polyhedra always have faces, edges, and vertices, and in fact the entire outside surface of the polyhedron is split up into polygons which form the faces of the polyhedron.
The surface of a curved polyhedron is partitioned into shapes that are curved polygons, and these polygons are called the faces of the curved polyhedron.

Evaluation of Digital Library Impact and User Communities by Analysis of Usage Patterns
Document and journal impact measures can be derived from the graph-theoretical properties of these networks and applied to any documents for which retrieval requests have been registered, including technical reports, multimedia documents, etc.
Journal impact has traditionally been assessed in terms of journal citation frequency [Garfield 1979].
Since every article in the SciSearch database is published in a journal, the generation of a journal network did not differ from the generation of a possible article network.

List of scientific journals in chemistry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
We can measure how many times articles in one journal, over a period of time such as one, two or three years, are referenced by all other journals.
There are only two or three journals in common between the 'impact factor' list and either of the lists based on total counts of citations.
Review journals tend to have high impact factors because they publish relatively few articles, but they are referenced many times.

In a metal complex, the coordination polyhedron is a solid figure defined by the positions of the ligand atoms directly attached to the central atom.
Indeed, knowledge of the coordination polyhedron geometry is essential for the modeling of the influence of the chemical ambiance on the 4fn lanthanide ion configuration and its effect on the spectrocopic and magnetic properties of the complexes.
That is why the Sparkle model is a useful computational chemistry technique for the calculation of lanthanide complexes: not only the geometries of the coordination polyhedra are as accurate as RHF/STO-3G with the MWB effective core potential, but the ligands are well described too.

By cutting off edges and corners, the smoothing of an unrestricted control polyhedron can be reduced to the smoothing of a {\em planar-cut polyhedron\/}.
A planar-cut polyhedron is a generalization of the well-known tensor-product control structure.
The resulting surface follows the outlines of the planar-cut polyhedron in the manner traditional tensor-product splines follow the outline of their rectilinear control polyhedron.

Our method uses a spatial decomposition and a surface tracking algorithm to produce a rough approximation S' of the unknown manifold S. The produced surface \bfS' serves as a robust initialisation for a physically based modeling technique that yields the fine details of S and so improves the quality of the reconstruction.
The suggested algorithm is faster for higher number of facets of the given polyhedron than the traditional Cyrus-Beck's algorithm.

The surface of any convex polyhedron is homeomorphic to a sphere and therefore has Euler characteristic 2, by Euler's formula.
(The assumption that the polyhedron is homeomorphic to the sphere at the beginning is what makes this possible.) After this deformation, the regular faces are generally not regular anymore — in fact, they are not even polygons.
A discrete analog of the Gauss-Bonnet theorem is Descartes' theorem that the "total defect" of a polyhedron, measured in full circles, is the Euler characteristic of the polyhedron; see defect (geometry).

Presents the polyhedron which is related to the great rhombicuboctahedron in the same way that the pseudo rhombicuboctahedron is related to the rhombicuboctahedron.
The first illustrates the relation between a polyhedron and its dual by means of a continuous sequence of intermediate rectangle-connected "transpolyhedra." The latter two present graphic arrangements of various polyhedra to illustrate their relationships (akin to the Periodic Table of the Elements.)

Joe mentioned initially that he didn't think that the original cover design would fold into a polyhedron, so he had modified the figure into a polygon (see Figure 2) that seemed more likely to be able to be folded into a polyhedron.
He showed us a folded paper model of this modified polygon that he had made, which seemed close to being folded into a polyhedron and which still needed the top to be folded in a manner that completed the polyhedron.
My initial thoughts were that there was no way that it would fold into a polyhedron.

The 2002 impact factor is calculated by taking the number of all current citations to source items published in a journal over the previous two years and dividing by the number of articles published in the journal during the same period—in other words, a ratio between citations and recent citable items published.
In these columns, total citations to a journal's published papers are divided by the total number of papers that the journal published, producing a citations-per-paper impact score over a five-year period (middle column) and a 23-y
