The pulp is pale yellowish-white with a slight tinge of pink.
It is less fibrous than other pomeloes, contains plenty of flavoursome and aromatic juice with high sugar content, low acid and no bitter aftertaste.The plant is tolerant to heat in the lowland.
Pomeloes planted in tropical regions, are often superior in quality than those planted in subtropical regions, because it is a heat requiring citrus type.

Pomelo has been identified as one of 10 tropical fruits for cultivation under programme to enhance the country’s export of food products.
Agriculture and Agro Based Ministry director-general Datuk Khamsiah Muhammad said Tambun and Kuala Kangsar had been earmarked for mass cultivation of pomelo.
“The programme introduced by the ministry is aimed at reducing trade balance especially on imported fruits,” she told reporters after launching a good agriculture practice campaign at Tambun Valley Pomeloes orchard in Ipoh yesterday.
