The Latin Mass Society of Ireland, founded in 1999, is an association of Catholic faithful dedicated to the preservation of the traditional Latin Mass as one of the legitimate forms of the Church's liturgy.
Whilst it is composed predominantly of lay members drawn from every age group and walk of life, it also includes a number of priests who wish to minister to all who request access to the former sacramental rites of the Church.

  Pontifical High Mass - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Pontifical High Mass in the Roman Rite, before the changes brought forth by the Second Vatican Council, is a Mass celebrated by a bishop that does not omit any elements which are omitted in the Pontifical Low Mass, such as incense.
A Pontifical Low Mass is almost identical to a priest's Low Mass, except for a delay in putting on the maniple until after the prayers at the foot of the altar.
The Pontifical High Mass really is considered historically the basis for the whole liturgy and its evolution, especially since there were no masses that were sung by exclusively priests in the early church.

The jubilee and the patronal feast was celebrated with Pontifical High Mass at 10 o'clock by the Most Rev. Bishop McQuaid at which many of the city priests and the various societies were present.

It was the Solemn Pontifical High mass sung by His Excellency Archbishop John Gregory Murray, S.T.D., along with all the pomp and splendor that the rites and liturgy of Holy Mother the Church could provide.
As the Archbishop surrounded by the ministers of the mass went to the front of the altar, the choir of Seminarians directed by Richard Schuler, of Minneapolis, chanted the introit of the mass.
He was present at the Pontifical High mass and his reactions to the singing were most favorable as he told several of us later on.

The Tridentine Latin Mass was instituted following the Council of Trent in the late 1500s until it was replaced in 1969 following the Second Vatican Council's call for liturgical reform.
In 1984, the public celebration of the old Mass was expressly permitted but subject to restrictions including the permission of the local bishop.
Having had some training and experience with the old Mass, he concluded that "It was clear to me that a lot had been lost." Following his ordination in 1985, although he celebrated the Novus Ordo exclusively for nearly ten years, he found himself disappointed with it and drawn to the old Mass.
