In Rajouri and Poonch districts, 464 and 446 civilians were respectively killed, they said and added Udhampur, Jammu and Kathua districts saw the deaths of 438, 251 and 24 civilians respectively.
The security forces lost 537 men in Kupwara, 415 in Doda, 411 in Anantnag, 287 in Poonch, 224 in Rajouri, 209 in Pulwama, and 204 in Budgam districts respectively, the sources said.
It was followed by Baramulla district of North Kashmir, where 2750 civilians and 616 securitymen died and 1712 civilians and 1510 securitymen were injured during the same period, the sources said.

In Mendhar area of Poonch district, the route is almost ready after clearing the mines adjacent to Roshini Post facing Khanna Post from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the spokesman said, adding that some mines are to be cleared near Gulpur area facing Rawalkote in the main Poonch town in the district.
He said the two points - Rawalakot-Poonch and Tattapani-Mendhar - will be ready at Poonch and Medhar respectively by November 4 to enable people to ferry relief and reconstruction material for the victims from both sides of Kashmir.
The points are being opened to coordinate the relief efforts to quake victims across divided Kashmir.

Srinagar district has accounted for the maximum number of civilians killed in the last 12 years of militancy in Jammu & Kashmir with 20 per cent of deaths occurring there, official sources said on Saturday.
Of the 14,356 militants killed in the state in the same period, 3,566 were killed in Kupwara followed by 3,129 in Baramulla, 1,427 in Srinagar, 1,205 in Anantnag and 1,155 in Poonch.
They said 2,385 civilians were killed in Baramulla district, 1,983 in Anantnag, 1,715 in Kupwara, 1,094 in Doda and 1,043 in Pulwama.

 LAKES OF PIR PANJAL- RAJOURI
The Pir Panjal falling under the jurisdiction of Rajouri-Poonch districts is a repository of beautiful lakes situated at an altitude between 13000 ft. to 14500 ft. In the local parlance, lake is called "Sar" and meadow is called "Marg".
The important lakes are Sukh Sar, Akal Dakshni, Nandan Sar, Chandan Sar, Katori Sar, Raviwalli marg group of lakes, Chamar Sar, Bhsg Sar, Diya Sar, Padyaran Sar I and II, Katori Sar in Bela Marg and Smat Sar.
This is Katori lake or Sar at an elevation of about 3550 mtrs.
