Mhan clearly is -- does not give anyone any reason to ease on their criticism of his or anyone else's work.
Mhan is a seasoned artist and a grownup who's had his fair share of criticism, and being a person who thinks rationally, doesn't anticipate that fact to change any time soon.
PopMhan is the kind of artist that we were all dying for since Damian Scott left.
Gerrard's Quest by Mike Grell, PopMhan, Norman Lee
When the captain of the flying ship Weatherlight is taken hostage, the swashbuckling Gerrard must take command and confront the awesome forces of Volrath and by doing so accept the burden of his inescapable destiny.
At the same time Ixidor, an illusionist with the ability to shape reality is out to kill Phage for killing his one true love.
This September, Star Wars scribe Ryder Windham, and fan favourite artists PopMhan and Norman Lee, will be bridging the gap between Episode I and Episode II of the Star Wars prequel trilogy with their four issue mini-series, Jedi Quest.
Because of his fresh style and ability to draw youthful characters, Pop was hand picked for this assignment by Star Wars editor Dave Land after his and Peter David's acclaimed collaboration, SpyBoy, went on hiatus.
POPMHAN: I think that I am a little more confident drawing the characters from the new movie.
In this up close and personal interview, Rik Offenberger traces the career of PopMhan with the artist himself.
From art assistant to one of the top rated talents in the industry, it hasn’t always been a smooth road for Pop, but through it all he has persisted with a strong work ethic and a willingness to put in the hard yards.
MHAN:: To be honest, I didn't know that much about the Demon character beyond some of his appearances throughout the DCU.
PopMhan's style seems to be well-suited for fast-paced action stories, but based on his existing body of work he doesn't seem to be the horror-type of artist that this title would scream for.
Mhan's art is more on the side of light than on the side of dark, so his work isn't suited for something like the Demon...
Well, here’s a teaser page before we put up the first 6 pages of the webcomic.

Mhan's work has never clicked with me, and I expected that some of the same storytelling weaknesses would be evident here.
However, it's clear that Mhan has grown considerably since last I saw him, as the work here is not only clear but still exciting, and the style itself reminds me of Tom (Spectre) Mandrake crossed with Darick (Wolverine) Robertson.
If Dysart, Mhan and the rest can handle the two main characters of previous Demon stories as well as they do their new protagonist, Driven Out could turn out to be quite a fun ride.

I like PopMhan and had bought some of his previous work from DC.
I wasn't disappointed with "Trial and Terror" but I can't say the same about "Bet Your Life." I don't know why PopMhan was unavailable but the first two issues were drawn by Carlos Meglia.
Happily, PopMhan returned for the last issue collected in this trade, and I look forward to buying the rest of the run.
So they left for a life amongst the stars, but after an over-fifty-year journey they have arrived at their destination...
Cassondra Castle is old, her time is coming to an end, but there are still plenty who need punishment.
Pop said on his website, "I was keeping quiet this whole time, thinking that Marvel wasn't sure (they probably still aren't) :) and I shouldn't talk about it.

I remember not liking his pencilling style at all: his human figures were all grotesquely distorted to a point where it interfered with the storytelling.
Having seen a recent issue of BATGIRLpencilled by Mhan, I must say that he is the most improved illustrator in comics today.
His skill at drawing human figures and features has improved *greatly*, and now is a pleasure rather than a burden to look at.

Freeze, Cass is in no position to do anything but listen as Nyssa explains her plan for world domination and Cass's role in it.
Nyssa doesn't foam even a little (although PopMhan's art makes her look a little unhinged, coupled with Dad's ill-fitting duds) as she explains how she'll use the Society as her unwitting tools, destroying them once they've served their purpose.
An expert on Daddy Issues, Nyssa goes after Cass's own parental quagmire -- the mother she desperately wants Shiva to be, David Cain -- the biological father she was molded by, and the perverted father figure that is Batman.
Pop was the penciller on Spyboy, a comic book written by Peter David and published by Dark Horse Comics.
Pop has worked for Wildstorm, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Top Cow, Dark Horse and TOKYOPOP as well as a few other top shelf companies for the past ten years.
He also has done some Star Wars artist sketch cards for Topps and character design work for Hasbro.
On its website, Tokyopop has an interview with PopMhan in which he discusses the obstacles to writing and illustrating Blank, his new secret agent series:
Written by Peter David, Art by PopMhan, Normal Lee
I know some people don't like PopMhan's artwork, but it suits me just fine.
Not so Good Stuff: Yukio is one of the more difficult Spyboy characters because there's very little background on her, and while I was hoping that this series would rectify that situation, there's really nothing being done--at least not so far--to delve deeper into who she is and how she got there.
