Feminism is a social theory and political movement originating from a belief in the principle that rights, privilege, status and obligations should not be per se determined by gender.
Feminism became an organized movement in the 19th century as people increasingly came to believe that women were being treated unfairly.
Opponents of feminism claim that women's quest for external power, as opposed to the internal power to affect other people's ethics and values, has left a vacuum in the area of moral training, where women formerly held sway.

Feminism, the ideology that supports uplifting the status and improving the rights of women, has been one of the most influential political ideas of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Since its inception, it has been both hailed as a profound liberation of society, and condemned as a philosophy of victimhood, responsible for the breakdown of the nuclear family and the degradation of society in general.
