Lando was elected Pope in either July or August 913, and was therefore Bishop of Rome and head of the Catholic Church.
He was one of the last Popes (but not the last) to use his given name as an official name during his reign.
He was the last Pope to use a papal name which had not been previously used until Pope John Paul I did so in 1978.

The pope is largely full of shit, by the way; while Islam did conquer territory, from Asia to Spain, by the sword, they did not force the residents of their territories to convert to Islam or give up their own religions.
And as for the Muslims, their response to the Pope saying that there was a religion of irrational violence was to issue death threats and threaten to slit throats and spill the wine....which probably sounds a lot more peaceful and rational in Arabic, I guess.
The Pope may claim that the Muslims do not value human life, but the Pope is the one who has put the target on backs that will likely be Italian.
