The present day Porcupine Singers are under the leadership of Melvin D. Young Bear and Severt Young Bear II, the sons of the late Severt Young Bear I. These two young men are trying to keep the tradition alive in their community.
Though times have changed, the present day Porcupine Singers are still keeping with tradition and are singing the old Lakota traditional songs that were made famous by their fathers, uncles, and grandfathers.
