| | Third Korean Winter |
 | | On the evening of March 23, a regi-mental- sized force, consisting of elements of the 67th and 141st Chinese divisions, assaulted both Hill 266, nicknamed Old Baldy, and Hill 255, known as Pork Chop Hill. The fighting was intense, but more for the hills political and symbolic value than their military significance. |
 | | The follow-ing morning, a battalion from the 7th Division coun-terattacked and managed to retake the crest of the hill and engage the Chinese manning the trenches and bunkers. |
 | | The Chinese had lost between 600 and 800 men in the fight for Old Baldy and Pork Chop Hill, but it was also costly for the 7th Division whose casualties exceeded 300 dead, wounded and missing. |
