Porsche's new Carrera 4S Cabriolet, which will go on sale in the U.S. in late September at a price of $93,200 plus tax, offers 320 horsepower, the wide rear body styling that says performance in Porsche-speak - and the opportunity to raise or lower the top while traveling at up to 30 mph.
Porsche, which introduced the feature on its 2003 convertibles, sees the ability to open or close on the fly as a major selling point and reckons it will sell over 3500 of the convertible version of its most expensive four-wheel drive 911 per year.
The 4S is the latest iteration of Porsche's all-wheel-drive product line, and although it has all the classic attributes of the marque, the ability to operate the top while on the move is likely to be one of the features most appreciated by drivers.

There's been some talk of a possible new super-car from Porsche, that would debut in 2009 and beat the Bugatti Veyron's top speed by a couple of kilomters per hour.
According to Autocar, this new Porsche GT1 would be a road-going version of the Le Mans car that Porsche has been developing, and it would be based on a modified version of the Carrera GT chassis.
Autocar goes as far as showing us a drawing, writing that "Autocar’s exclusive illustration is drawn entirely from leaked official technical drawings of the car".

The standard Porsche 997 has a maximum 295 pound-feet of torque at 4,600 rpm; the Gemballa edition makes 605 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm.
The Porsche tuner says all of the car's add-on components are made of carbon, except for the metal fenders and sidewalls.
