The notes are derived chiefly from the reports of the geological and natural history surveys of Canada and of Minnesota, and are all reduced to refer to the true or astronomic meridians.

Farther west, apparently this stratum of sandstone occurs in the bluffs of the Souris River, near its most southern bend, and in hills within the area of the loop formed by this river, where other glacial striæ may probably be found.

In Minnesota, agencies such as the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Minnesota Historical Society, Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office and the Office of the State Archaeologist work in concert with federal agencies, other state departments and tribal governments to ensure that historic, archeological and culturally sensitive resources are documented and preserved whenever possible.
One outcome of that is the effort now under way in Minnesota to find ways that Indian and non-Indian people together can meet their mutual transportation needs.
Four Minnesota Tribes have signed agreements with the Minnesota Division of the Federal Highway Administration and Mn/DOT stipulating provisions for satisfying this requirement.
