A first transplantation experiment was launched in August 2001 consisting in 10 grids of 1m2 placed on a natural sand patch in the Posidonia meadow (17 m depth).
However, it is possible that the low leaf biomass of transplants is related to their difficulty to meet the nutrient requirements of the plant.
On the contrary, shoots placed on pre-coated grids without further electrification were healthy and, therefore, this protocol appears for the moment as the most adapted to transplant P. oceanica using the EAT methodology.
