		Hearing the new PK tunes with a live band adds so much to them, it's hard to imagine them any other way! Plus the 30 piece orchestra is a nice touch! All three guys bill this as their finest performance!
		However, for all the albums you mentioned, I believe, at a minimum, you should add to the list "Majesty and Wonder" and "How the West was One" (Phil's live versions of Love Broke Thru, What A Day, Rejoice and several other favorites just exemplify his great talents).
		The difference between this and other forever remembered albums is that I can still sit and listen to every manipulation of strings and still be moved.

		Overall it is more uplifting than some of his other work, for it largely lacks the politics and failed relationships that so often form the subject of his songs, and the music grooves with an understated but insistent soul/funk (a clear departure from the standard pub rock guise of The Messengers).
		The latter half of the album is reserved for showing off the versatility of the musicians involved.
		Overall, this is a great album to get to know PK by, although some of the imports are actually stronger (in particular, "Comedy," recorded with the Messengers).

		This understated approach fits his lyrics, which are too aware of the paradoxes and gray areas of adult relationships to deliver simple answers to familiar questions.
		The album, recorded in Melbourne with Kelly's current Australian band, is full of hints at anger, lust, giddiness and sadness lurking behind the low-key craft of Kelly's rootsy bar-band music.
		I am online now having listened to this album (and his Words and Music, Deeper Water is the better of the two) nearly to death, too buy a couple more of Kelly's cd's.

		Neige Koppes is on PK's album 'Simple Intent' and she has a lovely voice.

	Deeper Water (Paul Kelly)
		Deeper Water is the second album of new material from Paul Kelly post Messengers (PK's former band).
		This is carried on by the B&W pictures of water in the sleeve, hinting at deep currents and metaphorically referencing the dark, unpredictable, emotional nature of the characters who populate the songs within.
		This song, and the dedication of the album to The Messengers late guitarist, signal the ever present notion of death.

		In their newest album, "California," Chynna Phillips and Wendy and Carnie Wilson, perform songs of their respective parents John and Michelle Phillips (from The Mamas and The Papas) and Brian Wilson (from The Beach Boys).
		The trio puts their own vocal imprint on classics such as "Monday Monday," and "Dance Dance Dance," though they don't express their parents' work with the same emotion.
		While their folks' presence during recording helped preserve their melodies, one can only assume Linda Ronstadt was not there for the butchering and over-production of her song, "You're No Good." Overall this album is a treat to listen to with lyrics less vacuous than Britney's.
