Postal (computer game) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Postal is an ultraviolent and controversial computer game made by Running With Scissors and published by Ripcord Games in 1997.
The fictional protagonist of the games is the Postal Dude.
Postal dudes mentality cannot be judged on his comments throughout the game alone as the player takes control of his physical activities.

Postal 2 - PC Preview - Game Revolution
Postal 2 will be a strictly first-person romp through a typical week in the combat boots of the Postal Dude as he "goes postal" on the fully-populated, free-roaming, fictional town of Paradise, Arizona.
Especially entertaining targets are videogame protester nut-jobs (who suddenly storm the in-game RWS offices with an arsenal of automatic weapons), at least three distinct types of Taliban, overweight gibbering game geeks, and even the recognizable employees of Running With Scissors themselves, easily spotted by their fl, distinctive-logo T-shirts.
Postal 2's slightly goofy body physics smack loudly of the rag-doll mechanics found in the recent Minority Report, particularly when foes are booted around with the player's Kick command (a last-ditch but satisfying attack when ammo for all other weapons is temporarily depleted).

 Pyramid: Pyramid Pick: Postal
The game is presented in a 3-D third-person perspective.
The game is controlled by either the keyboard or the mouse.
You begin the game at your house, as you first decide that people are "sick." Carrying your assault rifle and a few Molotov cocktails, and donning your flannel hunting trenchcoat, you strike out into the world.

In Postal you're supposed to identify with the kid who gets his neural signals crossed and wastes his high school English class, or the divorcee desperado who takes out her philandering ex-hubby, his new gal pal, and oh, half the city block in the process.
It is a striking game and the repetitive graphics of the cops, innocent bystanders, and blood spatters all stand out in stark contrast to the beautiful stage upon which they stupidly shoot, bleed and seep.
Thus Postal rates a 64 for disappointing gameplay and general bad judgment in setting the game's focus on the shock value rather than on anything substantial or creative, and for wasting the obvious artistic talents of Postal's designers.

Postal: Classic And Uncut PC Video Game Review by AceGamez
I can understand why games and movies are given ratings, they deter certain age groups and help parents choose what their children can and can't watch or play, but in the end it all kind of backfires.
This is why some will be drawn to Postal: Classic and Uncut; it's been banned in over 10 countries, sued by the post office and was condemned by the U.S. Senate and you'll inevitably be drawn to this game out of curiosity as to why it has achieved such a notorious set of accolades.
Comparing Postal to the Exorcist is a bit unfair though, because while I may not have been quite that impressed with that cult horror movie, I did enjoy it; and enjoyment is something that is lacking here.

 Postal 2 Apocalypse Weekend Review - GamersHell.com
The objects and buildings in the game lack detail in some areas, but for the most part the game does its job on eye candy—you can still look up a dead girl’s skirt if that’s your sort of thing.
While the game is short, it does have its moments, which easily make up for it.
The creativity of the levels and scenarios is ingenious; though the plot may be a bit thin, it doesn’t matter since the game doesn’t revolve around a story.

Thanks to a rash of United States Postal employees going completely bananas and taking to their respective workplaces with shotguns and automatic weapons, the term has become a colorful euphemism for losing one's mind and going on a homicidal rampage.
Despite its flaws, Postal is kind of fun, simply because it's a blast blowing everyone to bits while they scream and cry for mercy.
Postal's difficulty level is completely adjustable, but even when set on normal the game is impossibly difficult, simply because you can't save a game in mid-level.

Or rather, most games limit the number of things a character can do with a gun, thus making most enemy encounters from game to game feel the same.
