Pote Sarasin was born in Bangkok, on March 25, 1905, son of Phya Sarasinswamipakdi (Tianhee) and Khunying Soon Sarasin.
Pote Sarasin began his political career, as Senator, in 1947, and was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, in 1948, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in 1949.
Pote Sarasin was appointed Prime Minister on September 21, 1957, after the Coup d'Etat was staged by Field Marshal Sarit Dhanarajata.
