Needless to say, my interest in the Power Stone world perked up and I'm now glad to tell you that after putting many hours into the title, the sequel is a 200% improvement on the original.

As for "tiers" in PS2, I can easily say that Pride is NOT anywhere near top tier, him and Mel suffer from lack of lack invincible frames on their wall attacks which makes them easy targets for most of the character's Power Fusions.
Her weak attack power doesn't make her a good attacker, but it doesn't matter since the main thing you do with her is just run away for the stones cause when you get those stones, the match could be considered over.
When Power Charged, he can't be touched cause of his speed and his Power Fusions are great, Crazy Revolver can be used similar to Ayame's ninja star super (not as abusive though) and his motorcyle PF is similar to Gunrock's rolling PF doing around the same damage to.

Bottom line, people either loved or hated the original Power Stone, a game that was released in conjunction with the Dreamcast's launch on 9/9/99.
Fast-forward to the present, Capcom releases Power Stone 2, the much-anticipated sequel.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend Power Stone II only if you don't care much about the price difference between Power Stone II and its prequel (difference is at least $20).
