 2003 Powerline Update
Powerline is a product re-using existing networks that were not designed for such use, in dimensions that were neither foreseen nor intended for those networks.
More and more, Powerline engineers in Europe suggest that a good solution would be to adopt the FCC Part 15 levels world wide.
It continues to take an enormous effort and require great vigilance by all of the Powerline protagonists to collectively influence and control the standards making activities such that regulation of a particular, pertinent aspect, does not inadvertently go into a direction that may be adverse to the future viability of Powerline.

The Blogosphere: Insiders vs. Outsiders -- In These Times
Unlike their counterparts on the right, the lefty blogs have had to crash the party, but because they did it with energy, votes and money, they are making themselves a power in their own right.
Lefty blogs also spend a lot of time discussing various ways for the party to hone its political message in the hopes that these ideas will percolate up from the blogosphere and gain the attention of the powers that be.
Blogs of the left are inclined to make amends to change that Republican control.

As War Blog readers know, their blog, Powerline, is one of the major driving forces of the blogosphere and has helped to expand the boundaries of media.
In this context, blogs are not just an alternative to mass media; they are a whole new way to assess the news process and hold individuals and networks responsible to more rigorous standards of journalism.
The Powerline gents are already accomplished radio hosts (and my network Salem had better move quickly to syndicate their show, jointly hosted by the Northern Alliance bloggers) and could run a great 60 minute show with nearly every blogger in America willing to fly themselves to wherever to appear on the program.

Ethernet-over powerline may not be the fastest method of delivering IPTV, but the technology does provide multiple access points across the home without the need to run unsightly and disruptive cabling.
An Ethernet-over powerline local area network (LAN) is easily created by plugging an Ethernet-to-powerline adaptor into the broadband router and by plugging in a second adaptor into the set-top box.
With this in mind, system integrators, builders and architects need to be ready to adapt the technology they integrate into their new building projects in order to meet the demands of this growing market and reap the rewards.

ProgressNow Action | Alan Franklin: Powerline blog: some whine for your crow?
I took issue with Powerline a week ago for their 'investigation' into the authenticity of the now-infamous Terri Schiavo GOP Senate memo (note that I'm now calling it a 'GOP Senate memo').
At the time, Powerline was doing their best to cast suspicion on its origins, overtly implying that it was created by Democrats to discredit Republicans.
Senator Mel Martinez, Republican of Florida, said Wednesday that a senior member of his staff had written an unsigned memorandum about the partisan political advantages of intervening in the case of Terri Schiavo that became a controversial footnote to the debate over the wisdom and motives of Congress's actions.

Blog awards: Like blogs, they're diverse, global and freewheeling
In 2001, a Seattle woman named Zannah won the "Weblog of the Year" Bloggie award for her blog titled, "#!/usr/bin/girl." In late 2004, the high-profile political blog Powerline was named Time Magazine's Blog of the Year for raising questions about the Bush National Guard story on "60 Minutes II."
The Bloggies are the longest running blog awards (since 2001) and are run by perhaps the youngest award administrator, Nikolai Nolan, a 22-year-old senior at the University of Michigan who does Web design work.
By 2004, the Bloggie for Weblog of the Year went to BoingBoing, a popular group blog, which won $20.04 from Nolan and a couple free passes to the South By Southwest conference in Austin, Texas, where the awards were announced officially.
