The first was Yajrayudha who is said to have ruled in about 770 AD.
After Ayudhs, Prathihara King Nagabhatta II annexed Kannauj.
North and north west part of India after Harsha Vardhana was mostly controlled by Pratihara Kings while Central India and part of South was mostly under Rashtrakutas dynasty (753-973 AD).

The sculptures and other findings excavated from Dholbaha pertain to the Gurjara Prathihara Period (C-800-1100 A D).
Century A D Shiwalik areas came under the influence of Pratiharas.

The Academy is spread over an area of 2923 acres, which is inclusive of 643 acres of lake area.
The priceless statues adorning the Suraksha Bhawan are of 13th/14th Century orgin, carved during the Prathihara Dynasty.
These statues are registered with the Archeological Survey of India.
