Cultural periods of Peru - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Most of the cultures of the Late Horizon and some of the cultures of the Late Intermediate joined the Inca empire by 1493, but the period ends in 1534 because that marks the fall of the Inca empire after the Spanish conquest.
This is a chart of the Peruvian cultural periods used by some archaeologists studying the area.
These marked a shift of the most productive farming to or from the mountains, and tended to mark the end of one culture and the rise of another.

 Peru - HISTORY
The culmination of this protest came in 1780 when José Gabriel Condorcanqui, a wealthy curaca and mestizo descendant of Inca ancestors who sympathized with the oppressed native peasantry, seized and executed a notoriously abusive corregidor near Cusco.
Inca expansion was slow until about the middle of the fifteenth century, when the pace of conquest began to accelerate, particularly under the rule of the great emperor Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui (1438-71).
After the decline of the Chavín culture around the beginning of the Christian millennium, a series of localized and specialized cultures rose and fell, both on the coast and in the highlands, during the next thousand years.

 Ecuador - PRE-HISPANIC ERA
Largely in private hands previously, land became, in theory at least, the property of the Inca emperor.
The Sierra was populated by elements, from north to south, of the Pasto, the Cara, the Panzaleo, the Puruhá, the Cañari, and the Palta cultures.
Before the Inca conquest of the area that comprises modern-day Ecuador, the region was populated by a number of distinct tribes that spoke mutually unintelligible languages and were often at war with one another.

 ARARA :: issue 4 [Paul R. Steele]
Thus the Incas wear the metal that represented the Sun, in the form of golden ear-plugs and a silver diadem that reflects the golden sunlight.
For rituals to the ancestors in Inca Cusco, the king was accompanied by two wives who represented the Inca's primary and secondary sons.
In addition the royal Inca mummies were kept temporarily in the Temple of the Sun towards the confluence of the two small rivers that bounded the ceremonial core of Cusco.

 Peru : Pre-Inca Cultures
Other cultures that thrived during the same period were the Chachapoyas, who constructed the impressive Kuélap fortress in the northern highlands, the Ica (or Chincha) south of Lima, and the altiplano (high plains) groups that built the finely crafted chullpa towers near Puno and Lake Titicaca.
The Chimú were the dominant culture in Peru before the arrival and expansion of the Incas, and they initially represented a great northern and coastal rivalry to the Incas.
The most spectacular remnant of this culture, known for its advances in stone carving, pottery, weaving, and metallurgy, is the Chavín de Huántar temple, 40km (25 miles) east of Huaraz.

The warrior Inca culture was conquered in turn by another warrior culture that of the Spanish conquistadors who defeated the Incas in 1533 A.C.E. The Chavin Culture from 1200-200 BCE arose in the Andean highlands of north central Peru around the same timeframe as the Olmecs in Central America.
They were a warrior culture that expanded their territory by taking over the lands of other Peruvian cultures and integrating their cultural heritages with their own.

 Children of the sun.
The Incas adopted and formed the different cultures into a main path that all lead to the worship of the Sons of God: The Sun, The Inca himself and his earthly temples and priesthood.
This is however one theory, and in my opinion all Inca history is walking on a very thin ice of presumptions, due to the myths and facts always changing and almost ghosting around anyone trying to get the reality out of the hundreds of tails and myths all over the high Sierras in the Andes.
The Incas claimed to be the sons of the sun, and divine decendants of the sungod.

The pre- Inca cultures were familiar with silver, which they extracted from surface deposits rich in the metal.
For the ancient Andean, gold represented the sun and silver, the moon and the two were brother and sister and for that reason could always be found together.
Later, during the Inca Empire, significant advances were made in these techniques.

COLORAMA TOURS / Lima - PERU. Medicinal Herbs
The ancient pre-inca cultures developed in their Andean homeland quite solid supernatural beliefs.
Closely linked to these, the extensive use of "magical herbs" in the course of their rituals was common practice among the "curanderos" (healers), brujos (sorcers) and shamans.
We will use this day to visit an authority on medicinal, a scholar who knows more than anyone else about medicine men and their "magical plants".

 Knowing Peru Nº 57
María Reiche was who defines them as the stranger testimony and legacy of the old Peruvian cultures: "The lines of the Pampas of Nasca are anything less than a documental history of the science and of the men of science of the pre Hispanic Peru.
The archaeologists that have studied the Pampas of Nasca accredit the drawings to the cultures Nasca and Paracas, among the centuries 300 to b.
But it was that same year, 1927 that arrived to Peru another investigator, doctor Paul Kosok who was shown very attracted by these pre Columbus cultural expressions.
