Built as a memorial to sailors of Prince Edward County, the lighthouse is one of the exhibits of a maritime museum.

The Port of Prescott is located on the St. Lawrence River, 100 kilometers south of Ottawa, Ontario and 200 kilometers west of Montreal, Quebec.
