The President Crvenkovski expressed his gratitude on the continued support that the Republic of Italy has been giving to the Republic of Macedonia both on bilateral level and within the international organizations and missions.
On the other side, President Aseglio Ciampi said that the Italian Republic is closely following the situation in the Republic of Macedonia and expressed his approval on the direction it has taken.
President Crvenkovsi availed of the opportunity to extend to the President Ciampi an invitation to visit the Republic of Macedonia.

The President of the Italian Republic, His Excellency Carlo Ciampi, was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Civil Law by Diploma by Oxford University at a special ceremony on Thursday 17 March.
The President, who was elected head of state six years ago, joins a long list of Italians who have received degrees from Oxford.
HE President Ciampi was presented with the degree in recognition of the University's long-standing links with Italy, as well as his personal contribution to political and economic affairs through his role as Governor of the Bank of Italy and his many books, reports and articles, including Un Metodo per Governare.
