Once contacted by a TRICARE-eligible beneficiary, the debt collection assistance officer will intercede with all agencies involved, including military personnel offices, the MTFs, lead agents, network and non-network providers, TRICARE Management Activity, managed care contractors, and even debt collection agencies when appropriate, to resolve a collection issue arising from a TRICARE claim.
The debt collection assistance officer will research the TRICARE claims history with the priority unit at the claims processor, and notify the beneficiary of the resolution.

The press officer of the Israeli embassy in Dublin has been sacked after she took the extraordinary step of writing letters to newspapers condemning the air strike on Gaza last week, which killed 15 people.
Noreen O'Carroll, an Irish citizen, wrote to the Irish Times in her official capacity, saying she was "ashamed" of the Israeli government for launching the attack, which killed the leader of the military wing of Hamas.
A diplomat at the embassy was quoted as saying: "Nobody in their right minds expects an organisation to keep a press officer who speaks against it."

The Sri Lankan public would like to know what the qualifications of this "Embassy Press Officer" were to have got this post (if he ever held it) - considering that most of the posts at the foreign missions have been given to ministers' relations or stooges during the past forty years.
The comments from the "Embassy Press Officer", who got his job from one or other of these political parties, are therefore not surprising.
