Perhaps, Cohen's hypothetical analysis of the design may have been far more elaborate than the original architect might have thought, since it is uncertain that the original architect followed step-by-step mathematical calculations and geometrical constructions to design the embrasure and to satisfy contextual functions for the specific site.
Cohen's process should be presented clearer to the reader how to justify its step-by-step generative procedure and how the method can produce other sophisticated designs.
In the second group, Cohen's method of projective geometry is consecutively applied to create a variety of abstract and cerebral forms, called "stereotomic projections." Here, Cohen experiences theoretically stimulating geometric phenomena from a series of quasi-experimental and almost laboratory quality of design proposals.

Architectural Record | Daily News | Preston Scott Cohen wins competition for addition to Tel Aviv Art Museum
Cohen says that he was "completely surprised" when he received the letter, in November 2002, inviting him to participate in the competition.
Cohen describes the project as being, first and foremost, about "overcoming odds." Fitting the desired neutral rectangular galleries onto the "clamorous geometries" of the triangular site, while avoiding a confrontation with the orthogonal forms of the existing museum, posed the first problem.
Cohen is widely known for his innovative ideas on the relationship between architecture and geometry; he compares this project to some of his research into the Sacristy of San Carlo ai Catanari, a 17th-Century Roman sacristy where the interior space is embedded behind a façade with which it is in conflict.

 News@UofT -- Gehry chair redefines space and form -- January 7, 2004
To Cohen, holder of the Frank Gehry International Visiting Chair in Architectural Design, geometry is the solution to the conflict between form and function.
Going beyond the intersection of planes that one might think of as walls and floors, Cohen uses cylinders and cones as visual and acoustic devices while voids are integrated as 3-D elements to define space.
Cohen is also the director of the master of architecture programs and Gerald M. McCue Professor of Architecture at Harvard's Graduate School of Design and has held teaching positions at Princeton, Ohio State and the Rhode Island School of Design.
