Prince Patrick Island is the most westernly of the Queen Elizabeth Islands in Northwest Territories, Canada.
The area of the island is estimated at 15,848 km².
Prince Patrick Island was first explored in 1853 and (much later) named for Prince Arthur William Patrick, Duke of Connaught, who was Governor General 1911-16.

In Ireland, it was not used until the 15th century in Scotland and the 17th century in Ireland (previously, in Gaelic lands, it was thought to be improper to name children directly after saints).
