Princess Leila, born in Tehran in 1970, fled her native country following the overthrow of her father, the late Shah Mohamed Reza Pahlavi, in the 1979 Islamic revolution.
Leila was the youngest of the late Shah's five children, and the fourth by his third wife, the former empress Farah Pahlavi.
The princess, who was unmarried at the time of her death, fled the Iranian capital at the age of nine after her father was deposed.

Following her father's death in Egypt from non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1980 the family settled in America where Princess Leila attended a state in Massachusetts before going on to study at Brown University graduating in 1992.
She suffered from anorexia and severe depression and was found dead in her in the Hotel Leonard in London England.
Leila Josefowicz is one of my favorite violinists, and I like her in recording as well as in live performance, so it pains me to give her only 2 stars for this album.

Leila was obviously sick with depressions but to interpret that the disappear from Iran was guilty on that is just speculation and not very credible.

Leila, who travelled between homes in New York, Paris and London, was found dead amid boxes of drugs in her £450-a-night room at the Leonard Hotel.
