Principality of Zeta - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Zeta was the Serbian independent principality that replaced the ancient Kingdom of Duklja (Latin: Doclea) for the Serbian territories roughly encompassing present-day Republic of Montenegro. The Independent Principality of Zeta ended with the Petrović-Njegoš family of Vladikas (Prince-Bishops or Prince-Episcotes) taking over in 1516.
