Food processor with circulation system and method - Patent 6604452
In one aspect, a food processing apparatus and method is provided including a circulation system circulating a processing medium along a circulation path having first and second vertical supply and return path segments flowing processing medium vertically across a food product traveling horizontally through a food processing chamber on a horizontal conveyor.
The processing medium is circulated along a circulation path having first and second vertical segments 28 and 30, segment 28 being a supply path segment, and segment 30 being a return path segment, such that the processing medium flows vertically across food product 14 traveling horizontally through chamber 12.
The processing medium flows in a first downward vertical direction in first segment 28 and in a second upward vertical direction in second segment 30, which directions are opposite to each other.

 Shutterbug: In The Darkroom
When processing in rotary drums there is the special problem of uneven (initial) wetting of the film with the developer.
One-shot processing for film, on a Jobo processor, is only cost-effective in Jobo’s newer-designed drums and reels (fl colored plastic) where the diameter of the drums and reels is larger than the older, original design (white colored plastic).
After you pour the chemical out of a rotary processing drum (during routine film processing), there is lots of it remaining behind, clinging to all the various surfaces inside--the reels, the film, and the walls of the drum.

The optical data-storage medium of claim 12, wherein said peripheral surface is in three-dimensional form selected from the group consisting of a cylinder, a truncated cone, a cone, and their combinations.
As depicted in optical data-storage medium 130, it is possible that a base structure is adapted in such a manner as to have a peripheral surface 134 substantially in helical shape (i.e., with two helical outer boundary lines) for storing a plurality of data arranged in helical form.
More specifically, parallel data processing is proceeded in a form of one byte (i.e., 8 bits) at a time in the current embodiment of the present invention versus the serial data processing (i.e., one bit at a time) of the conventional optical disc apparatus.

Maryland Sea Grant: Blue Crab - Economic Impact of Regulations   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-10)
An analysis of current crab processing practices in the state of Maryland finds that the regulations proposed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, restricting possession of sponge crabs and male crabs less than 5-1/4 inches in carapace width, would result in annual lost sales to the Maryland processing industry of $13.5 million.
The proposed regulations appear to be a high-cost way of achieving the management goal of reducing the rate of fishing mortality by 15%, and appear to place an inequitable burden on the processing sector of the crabbing industry, and especially in one county.
The Maryland crabmeat processing industry is one that adds value to a raw material (live crabs), by purchasing goods and services from other Maryland industries and by providing income to its employees.

WHY WE DO NOT GIVE YOU THE MEDIUM FORMAT FILM
Medium format film after exposure and rewinding is simply covered with a      few layers of paper at the end of the film roll when rewound.
While there are many hundreds of locations that process 35mm film in the area, there are very few that process medium format or for the public.
Medium format processing tends to be the technical, artsy and sometimes snooty world of professional photography.

Although the cameras are cheap, the processing costs per exposure are, of course, exactly the same as the finest Hasselblad or Rolleiflex, and the results are...well, different, to put it kindly.
I would suggest that there is no cheap way into medium format - it is very substantially more expensive to run medium format cameras than it is 35mm, and you need to think about whether it is worth it.

Steam-air has been used as the heating medium in the Hydrolock (a horizontal continuous feed water lock retort) manufactured by the Rexham Corporation, and in at least one hydrostatic retort in Japan.
A large fan is normally used to rapidly mix the steam-air mixture and to force this mixture to flow through the retort and containers during processing.
The retort is purged for 1 to 2 minutes through a large purge (vent) valve, the bottom drain or by vacuum to remove excess air from the retort and to enhance the steam entry into the retort.

 CEDAR C.U.B.E.
This study of college/university mail operations illustrates that mail processing operations vary considerably among campuses depending upon their size, mail volume, campus structure, and mail profile.
It is recommended that small colleges subcontract both their white mail processing as well as their production mail processing, since they most likely will not be able to afford the cost of new equipment, nor be able to meet minimum quantity requirements through in-house processing.
Classification Reform greatly rewards centralization and automation in mail processing, and the recommendations are intended to guide colleges and universities toward making better decisions about their campus mail operations so as to maximize the work sharing discounts that they can obtain from the USPS.
