PROFANUM is one of the most inovative and also the most mysterious band in whole Black Metal genere, always standing alone in their own, dark world of sounds.
In Summer 1997 PROFANUM signed to Pagan Records for their second album.
'Profanum Aeternum: Eminence of Satanic Imperial Art' was released shortly after.

Disjointed, turbulent, and unruly, Odi Profanum quickly unravels before you, leaving an entangled mess of frenzied programmed electronic beats, nightmarish loops, eerie keyboard pulsations, and hair-raising screams on the floor for your bruised ears to digest.
Odi Profanum Vulgus Et Arceo isn't a release you can comfortable snuggle up with, especially with the first listen, however it's an oddly enjoyable and infatuating journey, spin after exciting spin.
Odi Profanum Vulgus Et Arceo's madness borders on dementia and schizophrenia, but really, the mundane is nowhere you would want to be.

Profanum `Musaeum Esotericum` Pagan cd / mc 2001
The previous album of Profanum was one of the most ass - kicking CDs for me a few years ago, when I got it.
On `Profanum Aeternum` they created something new - mixed dark ambient / neo-classic parts with BM vocals and a drum-machine.

Plato thought that we live in the world of Becoming where everything is in a state of flux but that we aspire to access the world of Being where pure and abstract ideas reign.
Our perception of reality is, according to Platonists, based on clear boundaries between sacrum and profanum.
They insist that there are no ideals behind appearances; there is only Becoming and not Being; profanum and not sacrum and everything is ordinary.
