 EXPN.com - Story
As of today, I no longer look at or refer to myself as a "Professional Skateboarder." That title, those words (Professional Skateboarder) don't mean anything to me anymore, I can't help but feel that they no longer apply to who and what I am.
These guys aren't skateboarders anymore, they're businessmen, "athletes" -they just happen to be good at what they do and they are lucky enough to make a living doing it.
And I wouldn't even care, except that this empty generation of skateboard professionals has the responsibility of bringing up the next generation of skaters, and from where I'm standing that's a frightening prospect.
