Professional wrestling is a form of performance entertainment where the participants engage in simulated sporting matches.
The tapout is not a traditional part of professional wrestling; it was introduced during the mid-1990s in response to the increased popularity of mixed martial arts competitions, where the tapout has always been accepted.
While professional wrestling moved increasingly to fixed matches during the late-1800s and early 1900s, for most of the 20th century professional wrestling was promoted as a legitimate sport.

Professional wrestling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Professional Wrestling is any art of wrestling where two or more participants are in a show.
The question of whether professional wrestling is a sport comparable to its freestyle, Greco-Roman, and collegiate counterparts can seem irrelevant, maybe even impossible, to compare as the key difference between both concepts is that professional wrestling's main focus is maintaining its audience and profiting as a business rather than as a form of athletic competition.
The vast majority of professional wrestlers are men, and especially in the North American WWE, where they are usually large in size, often to extremes.

He began his career in pro wrestling during the early 1930's in Canada, and got his "Whipper" nickname (he was also known as "The Irish Whip") as a result of using the manuever named after him.
Retirement was his only option when it came to pro wrestling, and he gracefully made his exit from his career of 36 years.

Professional wrestling, as we all know, is not a sport in the true sense of the term.
Wrestling today, just like back in the "old days" is much more perception than it is reality.
In any event, my point boils down to this: Professional wrestling in many ways is not unlike a variety show or circus, with a little something for everyone.

The predecessor to WWF Super Wrestlemania, it had 3 modes One on One, tag team or 6 Man Tag (which is rarely used in today’s wrestling games) the Genesis version was better in that it had a bigger roster, it included Hogan, IRS and Papa Shango while the SNES had Ric Flair on it.
Although not really a wrestling game it has one of the finest grappling systems of any game and the use of the scenery as a weapon is something that I don’t think any other game has really achieved.
Many primitive tribes and traditional cultures still use wrestling as an important part of ritual and celebration and wrestling is one of the sports that featured at both the ancient and modern Olympics.

It is no secret that in professional wrestling (much like the business world at large) there exists a proverbial "glass escalator" – which lucky ones can ride to the pinnacle of success – as well as a proverbial "glass ceiling" – under which unlucky ones always seem to find their success thwarted.
While half-cocked punches and mistimed chest slaps are widely considered to be among the most ineffective maneuvers in all of professional wrestling, it is a well known fact that the single most useless move in professional wrestling is found in the stealing of an opponent's finisher, as it almost never brings the victory.
Once a wrestler has claimed a particular move as his or her "trademark" hold or maneuver, a magical force instantaneously connects said wrestler with said finisher for all eternity, thus virtually preventing said superstar's loss should he or she ever be on the receiving end of such a stolen finishing move.

Originally, he wrestled as Rudy Guzmán, and then opted to take on the tradition of the Mexican masked man as El Murcielago II (The Bat II) and later El Hombre Rojo (The Red Man), with somewhat limited success.
With any number of his finishers, such as his unbreakable "La de a caballo" (a form of the Submission Armbar now used by many wrestlers) and wide variety of leglocks delivering victory after victory, the incredibly popular El Santo collected his fair share of championships.
However, what made El Santo the superstar and true Mexican national hero he was came not only from his wrestling skill and exploits in the ring, but also his outlandish action films, which were often set in the wrestling ring.

List of professional wrestling finishing maneuvers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A finishing maneuver or finisher is a wrestler's trademark move; one that they rely upon most of the time to end a match.
The finisher may simply be a glorified version of a move that other wrestlers use as a regular maneuver, or it may be an innovative attack that no one else had executed before.
Regardless, if a wrestler is scripted to lose a match after receiving a finisher, they will sell that move as if it is the most damaging attack in their opponent's arsenal.
