The project involves the development, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance of a 100,000m3/day seawater desalination plant in Dagang district, Tianjin municipality, China, for an operation period of 30 years.
The project will use ultrafiltration membranes for pre-treatment and reverse osmosis membrane technology for the main treatment and treated water will be supplied to mostly industrial users and potentially commercial and residential users.
There are seven projects currently in or to be acquired in SinoSpring’s pipeline, including two seawater desalination projects (one of which is the Project), four waste water treatment projects, and one water purification project.

The GWR System, a state-of-the-art water purification project, takes highly treated sewer water that is currently released into the ocean and purifies it using the same technologies that purify baby food, fruit juices, medicines and bottled water.
When the project's Advanced Water Purification Facility is complete in 2007, it will produce 70 million gallons of purified water per day, enough water to provide for 144,000 families annually.
