		During their 13 years of existence, Dark tranquillity have always tried to constantly expand their musical borders and stray away from already-conquered territory, and âDamage Doneâ is certainly no exception to their own artistic goal, being a truly diverse affair showcasing a host of new approaches and inspirational sources.
		Compared to the electronically-tinged approach of âHavenâ (2000) or the laid-back, lush melancholia of the (Swedish) Grammy-nominated entity âProjectorâ (1999), âDamage Doneâ is more technical and intense in feel; a direct and solid sound, yet with lots of complex arrangements and sonic structures emerging from below the surface.
		While not by any means being a sheepish âback to the rootsâ album, some of the aggressive aesthetics present in Dark tranquillityâs earlier work have resurfaced, giving birth to some faster passages, pounding and inherently catchy throughout.

		Yes, the album still has the catchy melodic guitar hooks, harsh vocals, and whatnot that are standards of melodic death metal, but they are delivered in a MUCH more atmospheric value.
		Projector was an experimental album of sorts for DT.
		The focus of the whole album is atmosphere, as evidenced by the heavy use of keys and the overall sublety of the album.

		When an album is being made for a rock opera, the album has to tell a story and include characters in the music.
		When a normal album is produced, the songs can be about anything and the songs do not have to be about a specific character.
		When a rock opera album is made, the music has to be about the same subject, and the songs have to flow together in a storyline so that the film makes sense.

		The major thing is that we have a permanent keyboardist in the band who joined the band at the end of recording “Projector” and he has a lot of things that influenced the general sound which is quite evident when you hear the album.

		The album is based on pure emotions and delivered with the most honest intentions exposing their sentiment to all who will listen.
		The album is taken by a familiar sound for the Manics, a sound that was never allowed this much room to breathe; the piano and keyboards are featured in spots where the guitar would have prevailed on past records.
		Though this album really isn’t an instant classic, like the recent Fat Possum release of the Solomon Burke album, Sledge delivers a solid album of soul music with dashes of country that is fun to listen to and nostalgic enough to show that this old road horse still has the goods.

		Dark Tranquillity's fifth album "Haven" denies the band's turn to softer metal dimensions in its previous album "Projector," and returns to harsh vocals and powerful melodic death metal in the best Gothenburg manner.
		Anyway, Dark Tranquillity's enthusiasm that shined in their second album "The Gallery" is not in "Haven," but "Haven" offers instead maturity, more melody, and smoother edges; and it is damn good at displaying Gothenburg class with heavy songs oriented to a live setting.
		When we recorded "Projector," it was really something that we felt was very special, very different and very experimental.

		It is heaven's turn now, another super song from album Haven, me thinks that comments are not necessary, apart the fact to underline that drumming and melodic lines are very evidenced, making of it a more emotional version.
		And still, though I’m listening to the album for at least the tenth time now, I am stunned by the development of this band.
		From a death metal band that was definitely good but was one amongst others and that was hardly sat apart from others to the founding fathers of a new style in death metal.

	Progressive Ears Album Reviews
		The album overall strikes me as inconsistent (although I will admit I am not a ready fan of acoustic progressive music).
		"Gist" follows the "Projector" nicely, although the feedback guitar going on in the background is a bit annoying, but it does not detract from the overall song.
		Most of the rest of the album sounds like something you would hear from a public radio touting "open-minded" alternative with a lounge act vocals tagged on-nothing great but nothing overly unique-with any prog rock elements seeming like a sore thumb than a complement.

		If you need to aim the projector up, tighten the nuts at the front more and let the butterfly nuts in the back hang looser.
		This system also let's me take the projector to other places quiet easily.
		I just unscrew the butterfly nuts and take the projector with me. I never even need to remove the board that is attached to the projector.

		Among the tracks the Projector and Haven albums are heavily represented, with songs such as "In Sight" and "Misery In Me" (coming from the Haven sessions) and "No One" (coming from the Projector sessions).
		It can only be assumed that space did not exist for these tracks on their respective albums.
		The facts of the case are that the band has managed to stay around for 15 plus years and has influenced others in so many ways that two discs is simply not enough to completely encompass a great career.

		This album is a little different since the music changes between being very heavy and rather soft and so does the vocals - sometimes Mikael Stanne growls death metal tones and sometimes he uses clean vocals (rather good ones too).
		Some of the songs sound close to ballads and that is something Dark Tranquillity should try to stay away from in my opinion since they don't do it all too well.
		The album was recorded in Sweden at Studio Fredman, produced by the band, engineered by Fredrik Nordström and mastered by Göran Finnberg.

		The guitar riffage is excellent as always on this album whenever present but what differentiates this album is the heavy use of keyboards mixed with the aggressive stylings of Dark Tranquillity.
		In the end, this a great album, some fans of DT hate it, some love it, but almost everyone recognises the talent that this album captures and delivers.
		Haven, although not a great album, is much more digestable for metal fans than Projector and I can recommend this one with much more ease than its predecessor.

		It's from their latest album "Character", which is brutal.
		These 2 albums are more moody and less crushing than "Damage Done" or "Character", and they both feature some clean singing now and then, moreso on "Projector" than "Haven".
