Propagandhi's concern for human rights issues is highlighted in their lyrics and actions, which include donating a portion of the sales proceeds from Less Talk, More Rock to organizations such as Food Not Bombs, which provides vegetarian food for homeless people.
Also, Propagandhi is a strong advocate of educating oneself about these issues, becoming aware through education and activism.
For both Propagandhi and Earth Crisis, veganism is an extension of their members' empathy for all those who suffer from social injustices.

Propagandhi is a political punk rock/thrash band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1986 by Chris Hannah and Jord Samolesky.
The album title was a joke, as Propagandhi were well known for going into lengthy rants during their live performances.
The label, a tongue-in-cheek reference to the band members' dislike for the G7 (which has since become the G8) is based on the economic structure proposed in Robin Hahnel and Michael Albert's Parecon, and was initially started thanks to a $50,000 loan from Fat Mike.

Propagandhi's a great band, and definitely one of the most influential punk bands of the last decade, but Chris makes himself out to be a real asshat.
CH and the rest of Propagandhi do not say things for the sake of saying them...They are much more than just boys who play music, they are humane, witty, and smart characters, people need to understand the framework of modern society, and understand from the bottom up to pass judgement on these guys.
Propagandhi is clearly one of the only bands in punk/hardcore today with ANY substance, care, or depth.

Music & Nightlife in Santa Cruz County | Music Review | Propagandhi
Caustic in the extreme and diabolically clever, Propagandhi's recorded output is sporadic at best, but its contents pack more lyrical bile and pure punk nihilism than anything that Epitaph has put out in the last decade.
With a message as politically powerful as Propagandhi's, one would think that they would have as many records out as Jack Chick has tracts, but since 1993, they have only released three albums and a collection of B-sides.
While underscoring the importance of free expression and autonomy, most of their lyrics deal with the overwhelming effects of a monoculture being led by a nefarious political class.

It’s been 12 years since the political pulse of punk rock was tapped with the release of Propagandhi’s How to Clean Everything, an intimidatingly sophisticated rock album full of scathing manifestos (or “Anti-Manifestos” as it were) that reintroduced awareness to a genre that had gone absent in the political underground.
And, as a political punk rock band whose platforms shone far brighter than their personal agendas, the band’s audience had little to go on with regarding who these three men were who tirelessly imparted the ill effects of global imperialism and the wonders of veganism upon them.
Propagandhi has always seemed like sort of an anomaly in that you’re always put exclusively in the “political punk”; genre, and no one knows a lot about you.

Propagandhi - Potemkin City Limits - Review - Stylus Magazine
Propagandhi was razor-sharp on Less Talk, delivering punk dispatches with smart lyrics, memorable hooks that kept their distance from classification as “pop-punk” (except perhaps future Weakerthan John Sampson’s wonderful contributions), and righteous doses of political polemic.
It’s nice to see that Propagandhi have got some technical virtuosity, but it doesn’t really lead anywhere, and like “Iteration” and several other songs on the album it’s graced with a few guitar solos that add nothing to its composition.
It’s commendable that Propagandhi are clearly not content to take a successful formula and repeat it like, well, most of the Fat Wreck roster.

As one of Fat Wreck Chord's very first bands, Propagandhi have long been going against the grain of not just society, but even their own record label.
That style took a dramatic turn in 1997 when singer, songwriter, and bassist John K. Samson left to write, start a publishing company, and eventually form the Weakerthans.

Their melodic sense – which sometimes tails off into a resigned grandeur – and the way the singer fits his words to only semi-related tunes, are both like a non-slick-sounding Manic Street Preachers, who called their own debut Generation Terrorists and claimed it was intended to bring down the entire ruling order.
(It didn’t.) And Propagandhi care about punk things: injustice is bad, abuse of authority is bad, the murder of innocent people is bad, yadda whatever.
But with Propagandhi shouting and cussing in triple-time, their songs buzzing by in less than two minutes each, it’s hard to imagine they preached to many people who (1) had fast enough to ears to hear them and (2) heard, in the process, anything new.

Following thier last album, Propagandhi have taken to a more melodic sound and a more slick lyrical style, that is not to say that it doesn’t still hit you in the face.
That being said, my first thoughts apon listening to this album was “I can’t believe I waited 5 years for this!” The songs on this album have a tendency to go on for 30sec-1min longer than they should and Todd’s voice can get a bit whiny.
It is worth the purchase and the songs will still get you going but it was not worth the 5 year wait.
