		Prospect is the union for archaeologists, with hundreds of members in almost 20 archaeology units across the country, We are working to establish a proper career structure for them, and in 2003 we launched a seven-point manifesto for archaeology, which seeks to raise the status of the profession and improve its terms and conditions.
		Their knowledge and expertise enable Prospect to campaign and speak authoritatively on issues such as improved central government funding for the heritage sector.
		Although the nature of their jobs and the terms and conditions of their employment may be very different, there are a number of issues which affect them all or in which they have a common interest.
