Faith and Practice of the Protestant Reformed Churches
At that time the Protestant churches separated from the Roman Catholic Church in order to preserve the truth of the Word of God, as that truth had been brought to light especially through the labors of Martin Luther and John Calvin.
In the Low Countries this theology was systematized in three creeds, which became known as the Three Forms of Unity of the Reformed Churches: The Belgic Confession (1561), the Heidelberg Catechism (1563), and the Canons of Dordt (1618-1619).
These creeds, which are the confession of the Reformed Churches of the past, are the spiritual heritage of the Protestant Reformed denomination.

In light of the perfectly clear, forceful testimony of Scripture, which testimony is the basis of the stand of the Protestant Reformed Churches against unions (as originally it was the basis of the Christian Reformed Church’s rejection of the unions), this miserable surrender of the churches to the labor unions is inexcusable, and deadly serious.
The Churches’ stand is also an important part of their witness to the outside.  It leaves impenitent rebels against the authority of Christ in the ordinance of labor without excuse.  It gains others to truth, holiness, and Christ.

The Reformed Worldview: The Failure of Common Grace
Fifth, the PRC reject the Kuyperian worldview in 1998 because, after 100 years of the implementation of the Kuyperian worldview by Reformed churches, groups, and individuals in the Netherlands, North America, and other places, the worldview of common grace has proved to be a colossal failure.
The purpose of the Christian Reformed Church was to establish a worldview by which she and her members could live in all areas of life and influence society.
It is more appalling still (and inexcusable) that Reformed churches, schools, and theologians continue to play fast and loose with the antithesis by maintaining the worldview of common grace in the face of the testimony of history that this worldview wreaks havoc with the antithesis.

It seemed that the PRC emphasise the autonomy of the local congregation as church and do not mention the further biblical definition of “church” as a plurality of congregations under one government.
As do we of the EPC, the PRC hold that God’s covenant is with Christ and our elect children in him; and that God gives baptism to the visible church and all the children of believers for the sake of his elect in their midst.
Having lived among the PRC churches and studied in their seminary for three years I read this book with interest and view it as a very faithful representation of the Protestant Reformed churches and the doctrine taught and preached in their midst.

The reformed church has consistently used the regulative principle to oppose any addition or corruption, whether it be the introduction of a new element, or a corruption of the manner of observation of an existing element (such as kneeling at the sacrament, or the use of exorcism and oil in baptism).
So the church of Scotland for at least one hundred years, and all puritanism for that long as well, was nothing but a pack of "rigid, stifling (and divisive) legalists," as well as all those who receive the full Westminster Standards as their creed.
The scriptures and reformed confessions not only address words of condemnation to those who dare to introduce their own whims and devices into the worship of God, they also address words of warning and duty to the people of God who might be the subjects of those impositions.
