I feel Wacha is a decent player with some nice shots.
Just came home not long ago from watching the semis which featured Wacha who won his match and so he will be in the final against a Finnish player, Laing.
What is interesting though is that he has great jumping smashes but he doesn't recover quick enough from the smashes and often it seemed like those smashes zapped too much energy from him as his jumps were getting lower and lower as the game went on..

Ponsana, who may have had half a mind on the coup back home in Bangkok, was halted 21-15, 21-18 by Shoji Sato, the diligent Japanese player, and Wacha by Kuan Beng Hong, the capable Malaysian.
The defeat of Smith however was no surprise because his 21-19, 21-13 setback came against Sony Dwi Kuncoro, the Indonesian who won an Olympic bronze medal and who would almost certainly have been seeded himself but for injuries.
