We show that a linear scaling between the weak decay constants of pseudoscalars and the vector meson masses is supported by the available experimental data.
One intriguing aspect is the dependence of the weak decay constant of the pseudoscalar meson with its mass.
It is verified that a reasonable description of the weak decay constants of the pseudoscalar mesons is possible within the effective light-front model.

Vector (spatial) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The terms scalar and vector as used here include pseudoscalars and pseudovectors or axial vectors (see also below).
Accordingly, let, for example, each of two vectors be expressed as three space coordinates, and apply the formula for the cross product, resulting in three coordinates, which represent a third vector.
Technically, the scalar triple product is not a scalar, it is a pseudoscalar: under a coordinate inversion (x goes to −x), it flips sign.

 Scalar: Theory
We obtain the mass spectra of the light pseudoscalar nonet mesons and the \sigma, a_0 mesons which are consistent with current experimental data.
The quark-level linear sigma model is revisited, in particular concerning the identification of the f_0(400-1200) (or \sigma(600)) scalar meson as the chiral partner of the pion.
The ease with which the data for these observables are reproduced in the linear sigma model lends credit to the necessity to include the sigma as a fundamental q\bar{q} degree of freedom, to be contrasted with approaches like chiral perturbation theory or the confining NJL model of Shakin and Wang.

We should be quite clear, however, that we are using the symbol i to stand for a pseudoscalar, and thus cannot use the same symbol for the commutative scalar imaginary, as used for example in conventional quantum mechanics, or in electrical engineering.
We shall use the symbol j for this uninterpreted imaginary, consistent with existing usage in engineering.

Light-Cone Quark Model Analysis of Pseudoscalar and Vector Mesons in Radial Excitation   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-01)
Recently the mass spectra and the wave functions of ground state pseudoscalar and vector mesons have been analyzed within the framework of the light-cone constituent quark model.
A simple gaussian wavefunction used as a trial wave function for the variational principle together with a QCD motivated Hamiltonian including the Coloumb plus confining potential together with a hyperfine interaction turned out to be a good model to reproduce the available experimental data.
It turns out that in order to reproduce the correct mass spectrum as well as the available experimental data for several observables like form factors, decay constants and charge radii it is necessary to introduce a form factor for the constituent quarks.

We solve the general problem of mixing of electromagnetic and scalar or pseudoscalar fields coupled by axion-type interactions
The problem depends on several dimensionful scales, including the magnitude and direction of background magnetic field, the pseudoscalar mass, plasma frequency, propagation frequency, wave number, and finally the pseudoscalar coupling.
We apply the results to the first consistent calculations of the mixing of light propagating in a background magnetic field of varying direction, which shows a great variety of fascinating resonant and polarization effects.
