The psoas minor starts from the upper reaches of the psoas (meaning it has attachments to the 12th thoracic body) and runs down the front and inside of the psoas to attach onto the upper edge of the pubic bone.
The psoas minor, when present as a muscle, pulls the pubic bone closer to the 12th thoracic, and is thus involved in lumbar flexion and posterior pelvic tilt.
The psoas minor can be felt as a slick, tendinous strand on the anterior surface of the psoas, moving down onto the medial side of the psoas as you move lower on the muscle.

Pubococcygeus muscle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The pubococcygeus muscle or PC muscle is an important muscle in the human body.
It is a hammock-like muscle, found in both sexes, that stretches from the pubic bone to the coccyx (tail bone) forming the floor of the pelvic cavity and supporting the pelvic organs.
A strong PC muscle has also been attributed to a reduction in urinary incontinence and proper positioning of the baby's head during childbirth.

Hip flexors - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In human anatomy, the hip flexors or iliopsoas are a group of muscles passing through the pelvis that act to flex the hips and rotate the lower spine.
Lying deep within the torso, these are some of the least known skeletal muscles, and their action is often confused with that of the rectus abdominis muscle.
For example, even though the sit-up is used as an exercise for the abdominal muscles, it actually works the hip flexors.

The main muscles being trained are the muscles of the front of the chest: pectoralis major and pectoralis minor (known to bodybuilders as the ‘pecs’), and the muscle called triceps at the back of each upper arm that has the action of extending (straightening) the the upper limb at the elbow.
Subsidiary muscles that assist in the exercise are the anterior fibres of deltoid, the rotator cuff of muscles that stabilise the shoulder joint, the flexor muscles of the forearm that enable hands to grip the barbell, and the muscles involved in respiration.
Psoas major is indeed a significant muscle - it attaches above to the lateral side of the lumbar vertebral column and below to the lesser trochanter of the femur.

When the psoas muscles achieve their proper length and responsiveness, they stabilize the lumbar spine, giving the feeling of better support and "strength," and cause the spine and abdomen to fall back, giving the appearance of "strong" abdominal muscles and the feel of a strong core.
The psoas muscles and the abdominal muscles are agonist and antagonist as well as synergists; a free interplay between the two is appropriate.

Hip Pain - Iliopsoas Tendonitis and Iliopsoas Syndrome
These two muscles are responsible for lifting the upper leg to the torso, or flexing the torso towards the thigh (as in a sit-up).
Iliopsoas syndrome, on the other hand, is caused by a sudden contraction of the iliopsoas muscle, which results in a rupture or tear of the muscle, usually at the point where the muscle and tendon connect.
If however, your muscles and tendons are tight and stiff, it is quite easy for those muscles and tendons to be pushed beyond their natural range of movement.
