A TAXONOMIC STUDY OF THE OKLAHOMA SPECIES OF THE FAMILY PTERIDACEAE Pteridaceae, a family of true ferns, is comprised of 13 genera, 5 of which can be found in Oklahoma. My study of Pteridaceae was an attempt to construct a classification scheme that would create an understanding of why several alterations have been undertaken in the placement of the 16 species within the 5 genera, and to show the relationship between the species.
