Using a combination of pthalocyanine blue, cobalt blue and burnt umber, I added the windows and open door details as well as picking out shadows on the rough surfaces.
Using a dark mixing of pthalocyanine blue and burnt umber and my 1/2" flat brush I added the texture of bare branches against the sky and over that nasty area to the right of the barn that gave me trouble.

Article - Ultramarine Blue: The Sincerest Imitation
As a colour chemist in industry today, where the major impetus is put into pigment development in high-usage areas such as polymers, the crossover into the use of pigments as artist colours is comparatively minimal.
Due to the interaction of light with individual blue pigment particles, the finer the pigment is ground, the greener the hue becomes and vice versa.
Holliday Pigments' ultramarine blue is remarkably "production friendly", as we remain the only ultramarine producer in the world to have invested $25 M in Flue Gas Desulphurisation at our two manufacturing sites in Kingston upon Hull, U.K., and Comines, France.

The blues were done with various mixes of Liquitex paints, the important one being Pthalocyanine Blue, a deep transparent color.
By mixing a drop of this into every layering mix, I was able to acheive a rich, vibrant blue that marks the first time I have been happy with a blue "recipe" that I've made.
Whatever those particular blues and golds were that you chose for this army's scheme, they match perfectly.

Some modern blue colors are actually violets and not based on colbalt and other oxides.
Try using Pthalocyanine blue and cadmium yellow for your base greens and toning them with burnt sienna or cadmium red to achieve a natural look.
Choosing a Lemon Yellow color, Cerulean Blue and a Cadmium Red would give you bright Greens but oranges and violets would be dull.

I washed in a dark angled green area and adding a touch of Pthalocyanine Blue graded the wash to a ligher bluish green trying to be as "painterly" as possible.
Varying the colors as I went, I graded the shadow areas from cooler richer blues to warmer lighter blues in the foreground.
Using cool gray washes (Burnt Sienna and Pthalocyanine Blue) I further modeled the shadow side and other areas of the pear.

I finished by dotting a few stars in the sky with a white crayon and using a light periwinkle blue to try and catch some highlights in the lake area.
I then mixed some Pthalocyanine Green with a bit of the previous gray wash and pulled the green wash over the surface of the lake, revealing more resist detail.
I continued with the grayed-green wash, leaving a bit of white paper and drybrush toward the far shore to accentuate the reflections on the water.

Cyanine and metal azo media are blue, pthalocyanine media are golden or silverish.
Cyanine media are often cheaper than pthalocyanine ones, and there have been speculations that they have a shorter life span and lower performance.

Endsley - AltPhoto - Gum Prints
Gumprinting has survived among both technicians and artists because of the variety of possibilities in the technique and quality of the obtainable image ranging from very fine color separation to a controlled Sumi or loose painterly application.
The comparative inexpensiveness of the materials, the ease in applying the colors of your choice, both generally and locally; and the ability to work into the surface of the image with other media have maintained the gum prints popularity, although it is a far more difficult process than Blue or Van Dyke printing.
Materials: Any paper which will stand repeated soakings in water and has a slight tooth; coarser papers result in more break-up of the image and also tend to trap unexposed emulsion (a good grade watercolor or rag fiber etching paper - e.g., Reeves, D'Arches, Strathmore - works well).
