  bower bird
It is the female who builds the nest; her dull plumage camouflages her while she is sitting on her eggs and feeding her young.
New Guinean and northern Australian bird of the family Ptilonorhynchidae, order Passeriformes, related to the bird of paradise.
The males are dull-coloured, and build elaborate bowers of sticks and grass, decorated with shells, feathers, or flowers, and even painted with the juice of berries, to attract the females.

common name for any of several species of birds of the family Ptilonorhynchidae, native to Australia and New Guinea, which build, for courtship display, a bower of sticks or grasses.

Bowerbirds are classified in the phylum Chordata, subphylum Vertebrata, class Aves, order Passeriformes, family Ptilonorhynchidae.

In many ways (but not the wings) men resemble bowerbirds, those Australian birds (order ptilonorhynchidae) who try to woo potential mates by constructing elaborate structures of twigs and straw, festoon them with shiny bits of glass and metal, and generally go to ridiculous lengths to attract the female of the species.
A common mating strategy among genus homo (order primates) is also the collection of exotic items.
Like their compatriots who amass Billy Beer and 007 beer cans, they will drop out of the gene pool like dead letters.

 Cnemophilines
Loria's Cnemophilus was initially described as in its own genus (Loria) but I use Frith and Beehler's generic arrangement here.
This group was initially thought to be related to bowerbirds [Ptilonorhynchidae]; indeed, ornithologists long sought for the bower of Crested Cnemophilus until Ernst Mayr (in Mayr and Gilliard 1954) found anatomical evidence linking it more closely with birds of paradise.
Stonor (1937) had already moved Loria's Cnemophilus from the bowerbirds to the birds of paradise.
