There are some well-meaning Ghanaians who hold the view that there are too many public holidays in the country and cite other countries where citizens are made to enjoy only a limited number of the statutory public holidays each, to ensure sustained productivity.
These and the fact that no meaningful programmes are drawn up for the observation of such holidays, must be enough reason why the President must allow nature to determine the course of public holidays.
