A pair of veteran lawmen have added their names to the list of more than a dozen potential candidates for the Penn Hills public safety director's position.
Pittsburgh Police Lt. Philip J. Dacey, a shift commander in the city's Zone 5 East Liberty station, and retired Penn Hills Lt. William McLafferty say they are interested in the position, which was left vacant last month when former director Dominic Costa became Pittsburgh police chief.
