		Public service announcements run in the form of pre-recorded announcements, community calendar announcements, and live read scripts.
		Announcements run at the bottom of each hours and are read during music programs at the station.
		Pre-recorded public service announcements are recorded for events that collect an entrance fee for admission that will benefit a particular cause - a spaghetti dinner benefiting the Berkeley High School Varsity Basketball Team, an appearance by Danny Glover benefiting the NAACP of San Francisco.

		The term "public transportation", to me anyway, has a de facto meaning of buses, taxis, trains, etc. It's an applied term, like "photocopy" doesn't mean getting duplicates at the film lab.

		Island County Public Health has joined in the state-wide launching of a "Stop germs, stay healthy" campaign to promote ways people can protect themselves and others from the viruses that cause many of our contagious diseases.
		The "Stop germs, stay healthy" campaign consists of a television public service announcement (PSA) that is airing on local stations, plus an interactive web page with an entertaining quiz and a game to promote good health manners.
		Public Health recommends that everybody practice good health manners, including covering coughs and sneezes, washing hands frequently, and staying home when sick.

		The PSAs were produced by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, with whom Fox representatives met Wednesday.
		Each PSA ends with the statement: "Muslims are part of the fabric of this great country and are working to build a better America." They were introduced by CAIR last summer as part of a nationwide public awareness campaign.
		Fortunately, these public service announcements will not be aired nationally by Fox, nor are affiliate stations required to show them; the network is merely making spots available to local television stations without comment, and they then decide whether or not to use these.
