Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, or PBL, is one of Australias major media companies.
The venture was established in 1997, with a combined investment of $50 million, which brought together all the online assets of Microsoft and all the media assets of PBL, which include the Nine Network, Australian Consolidated Press (ACP) and other PBL assets.
As of April 2006, ninemsn acquired Australian content syndication and mobile publishing leader HWW Limited, who currently syndicate ninemsn's television, movie and gig guide listings.

Publishing and Broadcasting Ltd was formed in 1994 in the same year that Nine Network Australia and Australian Consolidated Press were merged.
PBL also agreed to sell a further 25% interest in PBL Media Holdings Pty Limited (as well as its interests in Ticketek and Acer Arena) to PBL Media for a total of $725 million.

PUBLISHING and Broadcasting Limited and its Hong Kong partner Melco are believed to have paid $260 million to buy the land for their third Macau casino.
While PBL (pbl.ASX:Quote,News) and Melco have not released any figures, the Macau media has speculated that the land deal was worth around $260 million.
The news comes as PBL executive chairman James Packer is set to visit the city again next month - his third time this year - to mark the topping out ceremony for the $300 million Crown Macau, on the island of Taipa, the first hotel/casino complex to be opened by the PBL-Melco consortium.

Publishing and Broadcasting Limited (PBL) has entered a business agreement with IDM Properties, a property developer in Texas and York Capital Management, a private investment fund from New York, to build and manage a new casino facility in Las Vegas.
PBL said that the final details of the casino design and the construction of the new gambling casino facility are still being decided.
PBL commented that the joint venture paid a total of $54.73 million to the vendor of the property, with the remaining balance to be paid in 2008.
