Pulastya was the son of Brahma and was performing askesis in a lovely garden.
Pulastya, with a view to stopping them from coming to the garden announced his curse loudly, proclaiming that the garden was out-of-bounds for women and any woman who violates this would have to face a very serious consequence.
Trnabindhu understood everything, envisioned as he was with the inner-eye and he took his daughter to Pulastya and asked him to accept her as his wife.

 IUCAA SciPOP - Pulastya
The "Pulastya" building for the Muktangan Vidnyan Shodhika (or the Muktangan Science Exploratorium) was built from a donation received from Smt Sunitabai Deshpande, relict of the famous P. Deshpande (Pu La) and from a donation received from the Marathi NRI organization in the USA called Maharashtra Foundation.
The purpose of the donation by Smt Sunitabai was that the money should be employed towards bringing science to the school children in an attractive manner.
To underscore the "Pu-La" connection and maintain the astronomical touch, the campus building is named Pulastya, which is one of the stars of the "Saptarshi" constellation.

  Ravana
He was half-brother of Kuvera, and grandson of the Rishi Pulastya ; and as Kuvera is king of the Yakshas, Ravana is king of the demons called Rakshasas.
Pulastya is said to be the progenitor, not only of Ravana, but of the whole race of Rakshasas.
By penance and devotion to Brahma, Ravana was made invulnerable against gods and demons, but he was doomed to die through a woman.

If somebody at the time of death touches to their head or other parts of the body the water which has washed the lotus feet of Lord Hari, even if he is implicated with millions of sins, he does not go to the hellish planets, the abode of Yamaraja.
If a person gives up the water emanated from the lotus feet of Lord Sri Visnu (caranamrta from the bathing of the Lord) and goes to other places of pilgrimage, he is like a person who gives up unlimitedly valuable jewels, desirous of obtaining a lump of mud.
One who drinks caranamrta (water emanated from washing the body of the Lord) he becomes free from all kinds of diseases, and all kinds of obstacles and the fear of ferocious cobras and ferocious beasts.
