 Terry Farrell | Punggol Station
Punggol station is located in the centre of Punggol 21 which, when realised, will be a new high density town, a model housing estate for the 21st Century, including designer styled contemporary homes, with waterfront shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities.
This idea is visually reinforced when viewing the station from either the north or the south as the vent shafts and cooling towers rise up and are contained within curved metallic enclosures, separating the future LRT platform and the adjoining viaduct structure.
The station interior finishes are in a monochromatic palette which include polished and honed granite, metal wall panelling, stainless steel and glass which provides a perfect surrounding for the incorporation of art work of intense colours and wonderful textures in fused glass, which are especially striking against the context of the station's clean futuristic architecture.

All in all, it's going to be a good thing for the residents of the remote south-western corners of Sengkang West, and for Punggol residents.
Sengkang is fairly developed especially in the eastern and central part (where I live), but the western part is another story (re: railway in the middle of nowhere).
Punggol has had it worse - the eastern part was built up but development practically halted just short of the central section, which means that they do not have a fully functional town centre.
