The Punjab Engineering College authorities met the Vice-Chancellor regarding the mode of admissions to these 30 seats.
The college had three options: To fill the seats on the basis of the CET examination conducted on May 19 2000, to conduct a separate test for these seats or to admit students on the basis of their 10+2 board results.
Students and their parents have complained that neither the routine seats of those who have left these courses have been upgraded by Punjab Engineering College neither has the third session of counselling begun for admission to BE in IT.

The girls’ hostel at PEC will be named after the leading astronaut, the governor said, adding an award, carrying a cash prize of Rs 25,000, a silver medal and a certificate, had been instituted in Chawla's honour to be given to the best student of Aeronautical Engineering.
Chawla, who completed her early education from Karnal in Harayana, graduated from the PEC in early eighties and was carrying a banner from her college during her last space mission.
A two-minute silence was also observed by the gathering and wreaths were laid at the "PEC memorabilia" displaying the astronaut's photograph and her signatures and message to the students of the college.

And abt the timings of the college, I kinda liked it when our lectures used to start at 8:15 and i even protested in front of the princi against the change in timings to 9...but thats a personal preference as that used to leave me a lot of time in the evenings...
If u think PEC is a pest then why r u letting it eat ur life knowingly...
The college hours could have been easily extended by an hour in the evening as most of us attend gym, c++ in the morning.....

Punjab Engineering College (PEC) has developed a 3-D Laser Scanner and a software to construct a face on a human skull, a technique they expect will assist investigation into blind murders where the accused or the remains of the victim are yet unidentified.
Ms Divya Bansal, a lecturer who was part of the project, told UNI that it took nearly two years to complete and is the first of its kind in India.
The project which was handed over to PEC by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) here, is still in the experimental stage and has completed two trials successfully.
